Most recently, Charles is producing a feature length documentary titled Picasso's Christ. The film chronicles the fascinating story of an art collector's journey to discover the truth behind a charcoal sketch of Jesus Christ dated 1906 and allegedly drawn by the hand of Pablo Picasso. From an interview with iconic artist to one with a convicted murder, the journey has become more enthralling than the final objective.
Charles' career in independent film started in the Spring of 2000, when he developed and produced his first feature film Pendulum (2001). Utilizing his experience in finance, he successfully secured private equity funding for the project, and later secured distribution through Artisan Entertainment and Showcase Entertainment.
In 2004, Charles created Arrival Pictures to develop and produce the comedic feature Drop Dead Sexy (2005)starring Jason Lee and Crispin Glover. After a world premiere at South by Southwest Film Festival, the film was acquired and distributed by Lionsgate Entertainment.
Charles also took a stab at film distribution. In 2005, Arrival Pictures successfully distributed the feature film The Keeper: The Legend of Omar Khayyam (2005) in a 53 week, rolling theatrical release in a total of 22 theaters across the United States posting box office sales of $125,000.
Prior to entering the film industry, Charles earned a degree in Business Finance from the University of San Diego, which led him to pursue a career as a Financial Consultant with Merrill Lynch.
